Domestic Abuse

Women's Aid have created a website called The Hide Out to help children and young people to understand domestic abuse, and how to take positive action if it's happening to them. The website has an under 10's section and an section for young people over 10 years old see http://www.thehideout.org.uk/

If you're worried about someone knowing you have visited the Hide Out they suggest that if you want to be completely sure of not being tracked online, the safest way would be to access the internet at a local library, school, college or at a friend's house. Also, make sure that you don’t add the website address for The Hideout to your bookmarks. Websites that you have visited are stored on your computer as 'temporary internet files' and 'cookies'.

The site provides additional information on how to cover your tracks at http://www.thehideout.org.uk/coveryourtracks Please note that the cover your tracks information is contained on Hide Out website, and any visit to this page will be stored on your computer as a temporary internet file or cookie.
