The National Events events run by Friends House Staff in 2012 are Junior Yearly Meeting and the Young Peoples Programme, as well as a Pilgrimage.
Junior Yearly Meeting 2012, is open to any young Quakers (plus other ecumenical representatives) aged 15-18 whose birthdays are between 1 September 1993 and 31 August 1996. This year JYM is a four day event planned by 6 young people (who were nominated by last year’s JYM) and is happening as part of Britain Yearly Meeting.
Held at Lee Valley Hostel, North London, from 25 – 28 May 2012.
JYM is an exciting opportunity to explore your faith, discuss relevant issues, make new friends and generally have some good old Quaker fun. The theme this year is ‘Bearing witness to bring about a just and compassionate society’ (taken from Advices and Queries 33).
Interested? Then talk to your Area Meeting about being a representative or download the forms online and apply for an open place.
