Yearly Meeting Gathering 2011

The Children and Young People’s Programme will be a central and vibrant part of the gathering, enabling participants to explore and engage with the Yearly Meeting Gathering theme and topics from the Yearly Meeting agenda. These programmes also include lots of other activities giving children and young people a chance to be creative, have fun, worship together, and enjoy fun events for a change of pace. The programmes also give an opportunity for children and young people to explore their spirituality, experience Quaker practices and explore their Quaker lives.

This includes Junior Yearly Meeting (the programme for 15 to18 year olds) which is planned and organised a small group of young people.  The theme for JYM this year is Developing our faith: How does your direction change your actions?

We will be exploring this theme through a full programme of sessions, for example chat-rooms, speaker sessions and base groups.  There will also be social activities, including a themed disco, games, and a quiz.  In addition, we'll have a programme of prologues and epilogues to provide opportunities for reflection.  We will also attend some of the YMG sessions, and invite YMG attendees to some of ours.
