About Quakers

These pages contain information about Quakers, what they believe, how they live their lives and how they express this.

Young people’s events and Quaker meetings offer a place where people can find a sense of community and are free to challenge, question and explore their own beliefs, values and ideas.

Many Quakers describe the young people’s events that they go to as a spiritual home – a place of deep connections; a group of people bound together by an awareness of the sacred in all things and a desire to work together for a more just, peaceful and sustainable world.

From this shared experience, Quakers seek to live lives built on principles of simplicity, equality, truth and peace. It is a faith and a way of life that is both timeless and contemporary.

Visiting a young people’s event or Quaker meeting near you will give a real insight into a Quaker experience of worship and the ways in which it enriches, shapes and transforms young Quaker’s lives.
